frog, the IP is assigned to the company (in the patent applications). The principals cannot just walk off with it. A more moot point would be who the IP was sold to and at what price in one of the doomsday scenarios you worry about. This is where things can potentially get a bit unfair from the perspective of the shareholders. I don't think the company is going to fail so I don't think we need worry too much about this.
