That combined with campaigning for Raila Odinga against the will of the Kenyan government is also note worthy IMO.

For those not familiar with Raila Odinga (NOT ONE OBAMA SUPPORTER HAS COMMENTED ON ODINGA):

Raila Odinga:
-made campaign promise to institute Sharia law in muslim territories
-recieved campaign financing from Khadafi
-Obama campaigned on his behalf to such an extent that Kenya made a formal complaint to State Dept.
-attempted a coup after he lost the election
-Marxist educated in Soviet Union
-rabidly anti-Israel
-Obama and Odinga communicate frequently

Raila Odinga’s politics, like the politics of his father, Odinga Odinga, are on the far left. Raila Odinga was educated at the Technical University in Magdeburg in East Germany, where he graduated in 1970 with a degree in mechanical engineering. There he heard Fidel Castro lecture and named his first-born son Fidel.

He was released in Feb. 1988 and then rearrested in September 1988, this time for his involvement with the clandestine Kenya Revolutionary Movement and for facilitating travel to Libya for Kenyans seeking to get military training under Colonol Muammar Qaddafi.

It should be noted that Odinga Odinga was a Christian who saw that his son, Raila Odinga, was also baptized a Christian. Odinga Odinga went by the double name to emphasize how completely he rejected his Christian name.

As understood in Kenya, Barack Obama Junior essentially picked up an old tribal fight, with both men fighting old battles to vindicate their fathers. Raila Odinga wanted to redress the perceived wrongs done to his father by Kenyatta and the Kikuyu tribe, Obama wanted to redress the same perceived wrongs done to his father. Both arguably could feel the injustices to their fathers had been righted if together they could establish a new government in Kenya in which the Luao tribe would gain power for the first time with Raila Odinga beating Mwai Kibaki in the December 2007 elections.

Senator Barack Obama came full circle with his father’s past by openly supporting Raila Odinga during his visit to Africa in 2006. He took up his father’s battle with Kenyatta and joined forces with the most extreme Luao Kenyan politics, Raila Odinga, the son of the communist Odinga Odinga, who was ousted by Kenyatta.

Even as Kenya entered this postelection violence, Senator Obama has continued to insert himself into Kenyan politics. On January 1, 2008, two days before the Iowa caucuses, Obama called Secretary of State Condolezza Rice to discuss Kenya.
