I'll take Hemi's expertise, and accept their stated statistics, thank you.
The well was several hundred feet deeper than 900' by the way. And the 2000-2500psi was not just the pressure from the fluid column sitting there. The link you posted is the standard based on water in a fluid column... that's used to determine "normal". Just like a meteorologist will report a "normal" temperature on a given date. Statistically, the temperature on a given date falls within a normal range. According to the logic you're posting, if the weather report tells me the temps are 20 degrees above normal for the day, I should find it hard to believe.
In geology or oil & gas production there is such a thing as abnormal pressure and/or such things as overpressure or geopressure, and none of those things are unheard of and not even rare. They're just not what's most commonly experienced. That's the whole reason for bothering to report it in a PR in the first place. Because it IS beyond the norm. If it was just normal pressure there'd be no reason to even bring it up. This is the type of situation that oil and gas producers look for... what they're hoping to get everytime they drill a well... they want better than average. What's so hard to believe about Hemi actually having gotten a well that is above average?
Just because you've not been able to reconcile what Hemi's doing with your claimed experience does not make them wrong. Everything I can find, in fact, is the exact opposite, and makes it very clear that Hemi is following accepted industry methods and handling the well perfectly. Everything they've reported on the Collins lines up and makes good sense, and follows a very logical progression. The steps they've had to take are in line with what should be expected from a well that is like they've described in their PRs. IMO, it's irresponsible to keep casting doubts on Hemi's PR simply based on something being outside the realm of one's claimed experience.
