When was the last US president that actually served in our armed forces? And as far negotiating at the end of a gun? Some truth in that. But if you indescrimately shoot the family and friends of those you are negotiating with, then the reality is you will be viewed as untrustworthy and anything you get in the negotiations will be short-lived and, in the end, worthless.
