I never really knew the answer to this question, do you?

When looking at candlesticks and gaps, do you take into consideration the heads and tails, or just the body of the candlestick? In other words, was August 4 a true gap (gap in bodies)?

The chart looks a little like August 11 ...

... a nice long green candle the 2nd day after a short-term bottom ... and just before crashing down to the next level.

Maybe this will be different , we're Day 3 here after bouncing off a somewhat lower short-term bottom.
