You are making two incorrect assumptions here:
1) that the results are known and being hidden.
2) That the limiting factor is Cortex management availability. I guarantee you that if a serious negotiation were underway that required 'all-hands-on-deck', any and all vacations would be over.

The vacation-delay factor is on the Big Pharma side. In considering a potentially important deal (and the RD deal will be large enough to be considered important), the BP has to conduct due diligence--sending at least a couple of people who can look through the data for CX717--overall, not just in RD1 and RD2--the IV formulation issues, and the animal data for other low-impacts. They arent going to come to Irvine when RD1 data isnt even in yet. Since some of the companies likely to be interested in RD did not have interest in ADHD, and thus did not look at that info before, they are starting from scratch.

Even if RD1 data was in and available, pulling together a DD team to do all this right now in August is unlikely to be something a BP would order--the situation is critical for Cortex, not for them. Without RD1 data in, they certainly aren't going to do that.

I don't know how many times I have heard small companies talk about how it is to find the people they need to talk to at BP when it is summer, or the winter holidays. Thus, as I said before: Informal contacts would be underway, but the formal DD investigations necessary for a big partnership deal are not going to happen until business resumes in earnest in September.

Is it impossible that a midsize company like Cephalon could decide to steal a march? No, that's not impossible--if Baldino were to tell his staff that vacation is cancelled and they are to move aggressively, they would have to. But this is again rendered moot by the lack of complete RD1 data. Until that is in--then anything is possible in terms of one company or another trying to gain an advantage.

Hey Food,

I figure Stoll has about $20-30 million riding on COR's success. Do you seriously believe he would be vacationing, if he thought his presence was in any way required to help solidify/seal a partnership?
