"Do potential investors want to see if TIV can actually extract those hydrocarbons profitably at some point in time?"

I think that is the key. I think the "market", or investors, have been way too over saturated with glorious PR's (consistently ~41/year?) for so many years without ever seeing proof, or verification, in 3rd party, unbiased, regulatory reports and cash flows (in Q's) and most are simply not buying into "anticipation of" good things to come anymore. Too bad. Remember those days when just a far fetched juicy rumor would skyrocket the share price?

As far as knowing for sure what the production was during the 2nd quarter, or in June for that matter, I imagine that is another problem with investors. Its just not easily discernible in the 2Q08. Who knows? Even though losses were greater, don't you think they would have hyped up a 6 fold increase in production for the quarter, which likely only came from June?

As I keep saying, I think it would serve us shareholders better if everything (PR's, Q's, etc) was fully disclosed (good or bad) in a timely and clear fashion so it really is unequivocal to everyone who reads it. Just my thoughts.
