You're half right. Biofuels are real and are going to grow exponentially as long as oil is over 100 a barrel. Demand is outpacing supply which should keep it there. Exxon spent record amounts on development and their production still went down 8% last year. Meanwhile 4 out of 5 people in the world down own a car as 1.5 billion people in China and India are trading up from mopeds, demand is exceeding supply. "It's simple to see" as you say. BP just dumped 900 million into biofuels.
