I agree with this discussion but from my point of view if the athlete does well and lets say gets a medal I would think that the sponsor would have some type of say during interviews and advertising using the athlete after the games. I recall there were several comodities that utilized mary lou Renton. and look at underware with the athlete great basketball player michel Jordon so I think it is more of a hedge bet for after the olympics that is the american way. I presume that the cyclist that has won 7 tour du france if he endources a product that product will have some great advertising potential.
