- It's probably taking everything that Intel can throw in terms of R&D and marketing to prevent "DRAMization."

- I think with AMD filing the antitrust lawsuit and pursuing an entire PR campaign revolving around it, they have destroyed any chance of becoming a profitable duopoly with Intel. It's really hard to fault Intel for engaging in the price war with AMD, even now with Intel far ahead in terms of performance. Maybe if AMD drops the lawsuit, maybe due to some renegotiated cross-licensing deal, we can finally see "Peace in our time."

- You really can't compare Intel with the oil industry. Way too many differences to speak of, the primary one being that silicon is not a precious resource on this planet.
