"The American comfort food consists largely of greasy burgers, heavily sauced pastas, expensive but tasty entrees like boneless short ribs and pan-seared salmon, and artery-thickening appetizer platters laden with huge chicken fingers and tender sliders. But the food isn't really the point. It's the gaming."

I wouldn't say this says bad tasting food so much as bad for you food. I happen to like greasy burgers and artery thickening appetizer platters, huge chicken fingers and so on. And, given the popularity of all those chains out there that specialize in that stuff, I think that's where Uwink is hoping to steal market share. After all, the concept probably wouldn't meld well with the French Laundry.

Ya, the comfort food needs some work!

Although my daughter liked the: Mac n Cheese/ Hawaiin BBQ sandwich/ and the 3-different shirley temple drinks.

Heard rave reviews on the Tortilla soup/ and one of the salads. Gotta try those next time.

My Southern Chicken sandwich was kinda bland.

The sweet potatoe fries were dry & bland. They charge $1 upgrade, but not worth it. Not explained very good on the menu either, you think your getting the reg.fries + sweet potatoe fries for add'l $1, not an upgrade.

They should have Diet Coke or Diet Dr. Pepper instead of Pepsi.

Pepsi must have a 'deal' with them. I'd rather give what most customers want, not b/c... oh, I got a great deal with Pepsi!

I guess Pepsi goes together with the 'bland' food. LOL

That is the first article to put the emphasis on the gaming that I have seen. That is what I have always thought is the differentiator, not the food. Good article. And somehow I think the LA Times is a bit more authoritative than Caroline on Crack?

Is the LA Times one of the main newspapers there? I am just wondering. Thinking that this article would rate alot more than the others we have seen. I really don't know.
