Buying it yes, not at that price though as they overpaid by at least a billion and a half, maybe two but sometimes you have to do that to get a buyout at the time, see Yahoo and MS. The ATI gpu division will start showing some positive numbers again now they have competitive products and the long-term platform benefits will last as long as there is an AMD as it is no longer beholden to Nvidia, Via etc to deliver. As for AMD's share price demise that is perhaps all INTC's current policy is capable of doing, it certainly is doing squat for increasing its own like I said years ago.
