As DoCoMo converts to standardized WCDMA this year, watch for proof of common committment between QCOM and DoCoMo. As WCDMA phones with QCOM asics and/or royalties proliferate on DoCoMo`s network, what part of the definition of "ally" would be absent? In the 802.20 committee, to Flarion`s chagrin, QCOM, DoCoMo, and Lucent are allies.
