I don't disagree with your longer statement at all. I think it is right on, particularly for short-term investors (AKA traders). Long-term investors don’t put as much significance on the splashing of the waves, and are probably better at managing “pain”.

It seems that I am being personally labeled (your "disagreeable sort"), and being made the object of name-calling (Poker's "childish" comment), as substitutes for reasoned argument in disputes. Sometimes the disputes are related to technical trading matters (these should be educational disagreements); and sometimes they are due to misunderstandings which are inherently common (for numerous reasons) in written messages.

As for being labeled disagreeable, I disagree. I have a right to disagree on any content of any message, technical or not. For instance, on the technical side, I do not agree with the high degree of usefulness that some individuals place on EW. My side of the debate should be found useful to those looking for better understanding, even though it is probably annoying to those who think they already know it all and are on the other side of the debate. The uncomfortable truth is that no one here has yet offered any proof that EW adds anything to the game that isn't more directly and easily available through other technical methods. I also have a right to critique (AKA provide reasoned argument against) a message that goes beyond a technical trading discussion to make negative direct statements about my personality as both you and Poker have done.
