olli, coronary artery is very small, and the left main is about 0.3-0.5 cm in diameter. It is deeply seeded in the heart, and difficult to detect buildups unless you get cathether in there and look at it. if there is something serious, the docs can put a stent in there. if more serious, you can get bypass surgery. a lot people don't know about the problems until it's too late. CTA is newer technology and non-invasive, and it only takes about 20 minutes. You get injection through arm of contrast. Then you know if you have any buildups. I got one done in Jan. this year. I think it costs about ~ $1000, but I am not sure about it.
