who's your broker?? and is your acct set up for margin? I had a situation like that with schwab,,but it was only if i bought and sold the same stock twice in one day,,thats why i went to AMTD

Not sure what restriction your talking about, but Ameritrade did the same thing with me a couple weeks ago. Said I went over my Buying Power and Day Trading Buying Power. Basically I couldnt short anything (if there was anything else I couldnt do, Im not aware of it, or never tried it). I sent them $1900. So, I wired it to them and had no restrictions after it cleared a few days later. They also send they could send it right back out to me.

had my account restricted for 90 days in the fall of 2000 for the exact same reasons... was with webstreet at the time... i apparently 'violated' a federal regulation... they offered to do some juggiling with settlement $$ to get me off the restriction... g/l
