In the total scope of the infrastructure buildout in China, I am not sure this disaster will materially affect spending. They are doing things on such a big scale, this one city will probably gets lots of attention and help but whether it's big enough to budge the needle on overall construction is questionable. I am still banking on the long term nature of freeway construction, bridges, dams, power generation plants, utilities to power growth in China for the next couple of decades. Won't be smooth but the uptrend will be powerful across many sectors. Over a billion people need services, facilities and infrastructure to live, work, commute and improve their lifestyle.
