that is correct...actually you can send realtime video with a bandwidth of just 384Kbps...this has been proven to be working during the ISDN days...

talking about the future of tech's...I do believe that someday everything will be palm size i.e. pda/ cell phones/laptop all in one (this is where we need Wi-Fi/Wi-Max and Cellular Roaming)...then we will be having TV Programs/On Demand Movies/Home Internet Access all going thru one connection which is ethernet (there will be a device like a cable box but instead of a broadband output it will have 10/100/1000 MBps output connection, this will also be funtioning as an Ethernet Access Point for wireless voice and data at home) <---this will justify the Optical Boom that we experienced few years ago because everything will be connected like a Public LAN and this will make multicast protocol very popular...the technology is already here all is needed is to piece these all together...

CLYW might fail to execute but surely some company out there will surely need the technology behind ASNAP to gain advantage and additional market share from their competitors...

we will see more of CLYW in the future IT Events few weeks from now...mark my word on this...

assuming that Birdstep's technology does work and ASNAP doesn't...if Birdstep technology seamlessly roam between Wi-Fi and Cellular, will this be an example of a Patent infringement? Birdstep can use their own technlogy but they need to pay royalties for them to operate freely...I might be wrong on this but any comments are welcome as long as it doesn't hurt...

Peace !!!

Missing the point

When the PDA, Laptop etc are running multiple
applications software based switching protocols will slow
down--as PDA's are going towards multi-tasking and
as people will continue to push the limits of technology
the computational abilities of the users systems will
be increasingly taxed...

CYLW is already prepaired for that by not being software
based (unlike Birdstep and probably to some extent Nokia's most recent patent which is not as good as Calypso's)

I have read about CLYW and seen the infomercial
and do have faith--as the facts have unwound surrounding
this speculative venture i see primarily truth

I can only hope that it will stay this way--
given what i have now i remain unshaken

Tainor, ty for your honesty

i have not spread lies about birdstep, im just commenting
on what i know of technology in general from experience and
reasoning by analogy

fact: birdstep is software based
fact: software based programs are taxing relative to
hardwired chips
fact: calypso is hardwired

therefore calypso will be faster especially in times of
extreme system stress

that was my point, i picked an example that everyone was
familiar w/ (or so i thought) that is the difference in
performance between the win modem and a full card modem

I don't go to Birdstep and Bash on their board...the most
id do is say "cool come an take a look at Calypso"

have a good eve

(and ive been to norway and am half norwegian
you are good ppl i hope calypso will be an
rapid enablier so i can visit there in the
coming year...
(especially valdres norway))
