#25 RE: Bird of Prey #24

LOL!

One of the beauties of CSS is how quickly things like that can be changed. If I had 100 pages using the alternating colors for table rows, a quick change in one place is immediately reflected in all 100 pages.

What you saw in the color weirdness was me still trying to address the WebTV issue of not displaying the alternating background colors. I though that maybe if I used the color keywords ("aqua", "teal", etc) rather than the rgb codes, it might be happier. Not the case.

WebTV "supposedly" supports background color rules in CSS, although it's got weird limitations like the background color will only be changed behind text; not for the whole row including empty space. However, even that doesn't seem to be happening...

I'm going to stop trying to fix this particular problem with WebTV for now and press on. It occurs to me that if I don't eventually get the WebTV background color thing fixed (I expect I will), I'll still be able to provide a user-selectable horizontal rule between rows when this project is done.

It was suggested last night that instead of changing the Hot pages to use the same alternating-row coloring as Favorites, that I do it the other way around. Since that's easily enough done, I decided this morning to do just that. Wonder how much squawking there'll be when the color scheme changes on the Favorites page. <g>
