Remember when they had millions of dollars in hand orders for the smart car,exotic? If they don't fulfill the implied demand, these orders are no more than another missed oppurtunity and failure to execute on the behalf of management, of course, assuming that those orders are indeed realistic and forthright......an assumption I won't make.
