Capt_JMJ: re Market Conditions & Styles/Systems
After having messed around with all the technical indicators for years, I've come to the conclusion that they all amount to one thing: by watching the cart, you know exactly where the donkey was - and nothing more. One still doesn't know where the donkey is going to go next. Yes, lots of systems have looked promising - until the donkey didn't go in the direction indicated by the cart.
What I'm HOPING is that Steve's MVP system is actually a different animal - and possibly so based on one full year of actual performance (+120% annual return). Steve doesn't use the same indicators as everyone else as I understand it. Instead, he's looking at "extreme non-chart things". In otherwords, he's not looking at the cart.
Has Steve accomplished the unaccomplishiable (I know, not a real word)? Hard to say. Looks like it based on one full year of results. Only time will tell - but if one were searching for the "Holy Graile", MVP is a good place to start looking for now.

One thing we have learned the hard way is that certain market conditions at times favor certain styles/systems, and at other times, the very same system can suffer the Kiss of Death. Such is the random vs statistical nature of the market.
