Joey,

When all else fails, insult and patronize your customer..This should convence Dell to partner with AMD.

Dell is not AMD's customer.

...insult and patronize your (potential) customer. This should convince Dell to partner with AMD

Joey - Perhaps he recognizes that hell will freeze over first, and is unconcerned with them. Hard to insult your customer if they're not your customer. With Dell's attitude toward AMD in the past, I doubt they'll be getting any special treatment. If it becomes unavoidable for them, they'll get to pay for it. Full price. Intel may have trouble getting by without Dell, but AMD has done it for years.

Joeh, Ruiz is not stupid. I suppose Dell already started negotiating Opteron prices with AMD, and AMD clearly wants to sell them Opterons for hier price comparing to early adopters. Dell clearly doesn't like it and Ruiz is trying to place all dots over i's. The "dead last" must be read here "you pay price as advirtized on our website pricelist".

Edit: moreover, Dell is on track to pay its contractors 20-25 days later than the product is shipped. There is no way AMD will let them do that.
