Geez! You two guys do sound like old geezers!.....FWIW, one more thing you may want to look into.....Since you're retired and not really tied to a schedule(presumably?), call some cruise companies and let them know you'd be willing to travel on the cruise ships that change locations! You get a one way cruise for an incredible price, and then you just fly home.
Also, many airlines have deals for seniors where you just pay an annual fee for unlimited travel, with a few restrictions.
You guys should look into this stuff. JMO, of course.
