the price of timber and lumber is so low that at the mill here they are selling units of 2X4 studs non-kiln dried for $200.
$200 per thousand is way below cost, they are dumping them because they can still sell the large dimension lumber to japan, but the pieces that aren't at least 4X4 and up are basically worthless to them.
That translates to about 45 cents per 2X4, and it is good grade wood, not seconds.
I should figure out something to build that takes tons of 2X4's, LOL.

or ship a truckload of them down to you, josh, but i bet lumber is mighty cheap there, too, right about now. If you get a good rampager of a hurricane, maybe we can move some of the stuff.
If it wasn't for the biomass market, most of the loggers and mills would be going under here. Just when they figured out how to recover from the spotted owl 9th Circuit Court bullshit.
