Tengiz, as well as South Texas and some of the finds in the Rockies also show this feature. Probably common to a lot of finds, Mega as well as smaller. Apparently looked at as a helpful feature in deciding where to drill. A very positive feature, but not necessarily an indication of size by itself. There does seem to be a rough correlation between the size of the "meandering stream" and the total size of the find. (my impression). We do have a very very big one in the JDZ.

Dbernet,

The thing in your post that IS SIGNIFICANT is that Prudoe Bay DOES have the Meandering Stream ( estimated recoverable 33 billion barrels ?? ).

From quick glance Ghawar has the Meandering Stream ( memory may be bad, but Ghawar has in excess of 65 billion barrels )

The newly discovered field off Brazil is said to have 30 billion barrels, and I don't know if there is a Meandering Stream here, but I'm guessing there is.

Thus, as you see, the Meandering Stream in the GOG JDZ is in pretty good company. Estimated reserves of 14.4 billion barrels could be the lowball for this area, and the one thing that distinguishes the JDZ from the others is the higher quality oil.

Keep your eyes on the assets.
