Moral of the story - keep dry powder, convince yourself to buy when everyone else seems to be puking in the street, give yourself lots of time before expiration and hold.
Yeah, my Jan '09 MA 250 calls are benefiting from that. My similar AAPL calls bought about the same time last year ... are doing less well :/ On the other hand, the naked puts with strike prices at 110 and 170 have racked up a nice paper profit.
Actually, my best "buy when they are puking" call this year was ACAS at 28 and change in January. Pity I had begun loading up in the 40s, but the dividend is only getting bigger, so ....
