I'd make that change in my own config, too. The bright white tends to wear me out after a while.

What I'm up against is that every module of the site (and there are dozens of them) contains within it, its own instructions for aspects like font face, size, and background color. Worse, these instructions are repeated very often within a single page. Tends to bloat the amount of data going over the wires.

That's what the project I call the "CSS Project" is all about. Centralizing all the style elements in one file, then each module just calls the shared style element by name when needed.

Once that's done, it's a walk in the park to make it all user-configurable.
