It was a work session/public meeting, and was open to the public as are all work sessions and these were the people who were there listening in.

“Present at the meeting were: Mayor Bertrand, Councilors Cayer, Goudreau, Remillard, Lafleur, McCue, Evans and Donovan; Councilor Poulin was absent. Marion Huntley, John Moulis, Pamela Laflamme, Blandine Shallow, Jim Wagner, Jay Poulin, David Patch, Ronald Patch, Norman Charest, Albrecht Von Sydow, media and public.”

Councilor Donovan also said, “a major mistake by the past administration for not getting involved immediately (in the mill site) and I think the voters knew it and that was reflected and Norman said it and that is why you (referring to the council) are here today. That's exactly right”

But I do know the individuals and do know the intent of the initiation. If this body does not have its act together, does not intend to act quickly and co-operatively with the city, as they know feel is the case, they will be standing in opposition where if they find the opposite to be true they will be standing in support of the company. Tonight they will be discussing a request for a referendum on the future of the mill site, which is still available for purchase and not owned by LLEG.
