As I promised yesterday, here is an update from my email exchange with Marathon Oil.

You might recall I contacted them (and Shell) looking for verification of our CEO's press release regarding their agreements with both Shell and Marathon. I am clipping the response verbatim from Robert Calmus, Communications Manager of Marathon Petroleum Company, LLC:

"The press release is you pointed us to is referring to one of our independent jobbers. This in no way reflects a decision made by Marathon Petroleum Company LLC as a whole and it would only relate to the Marathon locations owned and operated by this independent jobber.

Please let me know if this answers your questions.

I take this two ways: 1, the agreement with Marathon is not as large as the press release makes it appear. But 2., it DOES confirm that this is a real company selling real products. Ya gotta start somewhere, right? I've asked Mr. Calmus for the contact information of the 'independent jobber' so that I can hopefully get a better feel for how many locations will be serviced by EESO. When I get that I'll let you all know.

Someone was going to post the link to the Shell website that confirmed the agreement with them - did that happen? I've been all over the Shell site and I cannot find it, but that doesn't mean it's not there.

Also, I have to admit that the regurgitation of Jared's press releases by other news bodies (Yahoo, bizjournals, etc) to me is not a confirmation of any of the claims made in the press release itself. I'm skeptical by nature (character flaw) so unless and until I have gotten another entity to confirm what Jared says, I cannot take it to the bank.

I'll remind you that I'm not bashing - I own this stock and will buy more once I can verify these pr's.
