lol... well the reason I asked was because I was just googling simplivir to see what would come up and I hit a herpes forum where a guy got a response from Parag in feb 2008 indicating animal trials hadnt even begun!
I sent them an email today asking questions about the simplivar compound and it appears I got a reply for their P.R. person but at least they responded because according to their website, it seems like they are already in the toxicological stage.. Anyway, see the repy below.
"In regards to your questions about Simplivir, below please find some answers.
Animal, cotton mice, studies for Simplivr are set to begin shortly for the therapeutic, with the results from this study expected to be completed within 2-3 months. Upon completion of the animal study, Simplivir will begin the toxicological ADME (absorption, distribution, metabolism and excretion) study require for an IND filing with the FDA. CytoGenix hopes to complete the require ADME studies and to file an IND to begin clinical trials within 12-15 months.
As of now there is no formal process to participate in the clinical trials has been developed though we appreciate your willingness to participate in future clinical trials. Should an opportunity become available in the near future will provide you with the necessary information to participate. Additionally, while we are grateful for your assistance, as well as the assistance of the broader herpes community, the completion of the studies is the only way to move the process along and determine how effective the Simplivir treatment will be.
