The housing crisis is not the only reason our economy is in trouble. Our economy is in trouble because the government went on a spending spree, thanks in part to a totally foolish and needless Iraq war, and cut taxes at the same time, thus causing a massive deficit and weakening the dollar. Even if recent economic policies soften the housing blow, the economy will still be in trouble so I do not expect an economic recovery later this year...

I am not so sure about that given our "globalization" because inflation has become a global phenomena while our slowing economy may be specific to the US only...
