There seem to be a lot of these companies with tons of cash -- I don't know what to make of it.

I own a little V X G N.ob -- management wanted to merge with another drug co. but the hedge fund owners blocked the deal which means certain liquidation. The co. has at LEAST twice as much cash as the current share price -- but still trades at a 50% discount to cash on the books. So if people are willing to sell dollars for fifty cents -- I don't know what to expect when a stock 'only' trades at 120% of book value.

I guess since there's very few buyouts occuring... you can't expect a buyout but you can be sure management will continue to find a way to pay themselves big performance bonuses. Don't let the stock chart fool you -- it takes a lot of hard work to destroy shareholder value!

Appetite for value co's just isn't what it used to be.
