U.S. natural gas will increase from 21.8 trillion cubic feet in 2006 to 23.4 trillion cubic feet in 2009 and 24.3 trillion cubic feet in 2016, according to the Energy Information Agency (EIA). Demand for natural gas is coming from the residential, commercial and electric power sectors, with the latter sector representing about 30 percent of total annual natural gas consumption.
