VLNT- DD Below is a summary of my speculation - Hopefully this helps some of you understand the patents, impacts and market possibilities

VLNT Has specific Technology Patents

VLNT still owns its previous patents and has reoccupied the patents which it previously sold to iGate (see patent link below)

IF GS is planning to acquire VLNT for these patents then they may have a speculative purpose for 'using' these patents, possibly a r/m with a pre-existing telecom in order to provide streaming video (IPTV) is one scenario .This is my best guess since it's an emerging market AND it's going to compete with cable and satellite providers which = major $$.

Since streaming video is yet another major revenue producer and upcoming popular service provided by ISP's I could understand why a telecom (or ISP) would be interested in leveraging these patents as well as new video technology compression methods.

These were just a few thoughts I had - IF anyone finds more technology related DD let me know and I'll try to decipher it into common terms.
