I can´t help but I think you are a bit disingenuous here. You are right that as the interim moves out towards the final there is more power in the interim. You are also right that the chances of failed interim and a successful final are getting lower. However, the nominal alpha for the final is always above 0.04. Therefore my interpretation is that if the interim fails, the odds of final being successful will be much lower. On the other hand, if Provenge works, its odds of hitting stat sig on the interim have improved markedly. I think from the investor´s point of view the focus should shift to the interim results. If the assumption of using OBF is correct, the efficacy of Provenge would be established to a large degree at the interim look.
