#1077 RE: redfish1999 #1076

Update on Grace #2

Redfish and all, I have occasional "eyeballs on the Grace sites" reports to share, but nothing on anything happening at Bedford corporate levels.

Update on the Grace #2: Completion could not begin until the FAA was notified there'd be a completion rig installed near the north end of the Chandler airport runway, creating a temporary vertical obstruction. Once notified, the FAA would then issue a NOTAM (notice to airmen) of that fact. Once issued, Bedford should be able to begin well completion.

That required NOTAM was posted last Monday:
_____

KCQB CHANDLER RGNL

03/002 - OBST OIL RIG UNKN (94 AGL) 300 NW AER RWY 17. WIE UNTIL UFN. CREATED: 17 MAR 14:36 2008
_____

Translation: NOTAM #03/002 warns airmen of an obstacle (oil rig) of unknown height at the Chandler Regional airport (ICAO designator of KCQB, which has an elevation of 94 feet actual ground level; sea level is 0), located 300 feet northwest of the approach end of the runway (AER) of runway 17 (170 degree heading; 180 degrees is due south). With immediate effect until further notice. Notam was created on 17 Mar, 14:36 Zulu time, 2008.

If/when this NOTAM is canceled, we should expect that to mean the completion rig has been removed, suggesting we'd be nearing "meters spinning" status.

I will monitor the FAA NOTAMs for any changes and report them to this board.
