Oh, the fine news outlets have a variety of takes on his involvement in the flesh trade after working to bust prostitution rings. The UK paper with Spitzer's photo on the front page above the fold, though, is the Financial Times. Interesting, no?

My question on the "Spitzer rally" was whether the thesis was founded on a get-out-of-jail-free card for those who might be caught by market policemen. I'm not sure whether it's a joke or has some serious element.

Of course, Spitzer's an idiot to get swept up in this. Doing right by your girl means something to lots of folks. Even the Dems, who've seemed fairly tolerant historically of affairs among their elected officials, would surely quake at the idea of paying for it. That kinda rubs out the possibility of claiming your head was clouded by your bewildered heart, since your heart would surely break thinking she saw you as a business transaction.

And I thought Spitzer might be made of better stuff.
