BUGGI: Interesting TA. It is forcing me to re-evaluate my own interpetation of AMD's Bollinger Bands.

The more I look at them the more they resemble a battered Civil War bugle dug up at Gettysburg, than a semi-erect penis.

Generally speaking, in classical TA theory, a battered-Civil-War-bugle-pattern means that a stock will warble a lot more than usual with many split notes, but on the whole, the pitch will be in a higher register.

BUGGI, thanks for the excellent AMD TA charts! My conclusion from your explanation is that the signals are mixed now, but a close above 18 would be very bullish for a run to the mid 20s.

First, the shortterm one:
- BB broadening
- candle 50% above BB - means caution!
- downtrendline broken - very good
- support through 3 gaps hold - very good
- stochastik signals overbought - just the first sign of a couldbe-correction
-volume stable - I expected more

These are very mixed signs, no consensus. However, if we continue to close above the BB, even one more time, then it is bullish - the start of a trend. So far today the price is cooperating.

I do have a problem with the last box you drew in the second diagram. In the long history of that chart there was no other box formation which started close to the top of the previous box. Do you think the recent small dip would give a base for expecting such a box?

Just a small bit of TA

Thanks for that post. It was quite interesting. I like the equal movement part. I tend to agree that AMD moves in bursts, and I think this is the start of both a short and long term burst. Short term I see a runup into earnings, followed by a slight pullback through a slow Q2. In Q3 and Q4 I think we'll see the real fireworks.

My prediction is around $20 by earnings and over $40 by the end of the year.
