I understand where you are coming from WRT Wiki. But, the reference I posted does have a reasonable list, and a lot of footnotes. I would continue to recommend it as being insightful.

It leads me to the conclusion that: The Fed has a complex set of things to do, and any 'single' thing isn't it, and that 'the most important single thing' is a talking point.

My preference is that the Fed keep the banking system working.

I just wish it didn't seem to feel like I was being milked like a rented cow to support that goal.
