Didn't Hitler throw about 3 million men at the Russians? a force that included 142 infantry divisions, 17 panzer divisions and 4,000 tanks.

The idea that the war-weary American Army was going to go on and defeat the recently cranked up Russians on their own turf is ludicrous, (or that the American people were going to buy it) a fantasy for those who spank their monkeys on the no-lib board(s) and think we're "winning" in Iraq as opposed to just breaking our own backs a little further.
