'dave5197' , good, insightful post, IMO. Could very well be the case. Hmmmm, ...if they do a few more of these share give-aways this year, they might be able to get enough control to take this thing private. Just a thought. Otherwise they can get a white knight to buy them out.
That's what all the hoopla here is about. When we have a CEO who plays his cards close to his chest, we have few clues to determine what his real plan is. Anything could happen and it usually is not favorable to retail investors...

And that's ok from my perspective, but to what end? Greed is a powerful force.

Surely they have enough financing to pay for drilling, pay off all their debt (which isn't much) to make for a nice balance sheet, and obtain more assets/leases.

I've stated before a buyout may be likely. I just hope the shareholders are rewarded substantially as well.

LOL...I think you need to check out HMGP as the company that regrets going public. Not sure whether your assertion of shares to employees has any merit either, except to perhaps a limited degree...pure speculation at this time. Got to agree though that many small companies have management that's good at one thing or another. My preference is for them to build the company, and I dare say, work out in the "field", than to be "slick" with the pr, promote, pump and dump, etc.
