It shoudn't be about the taxes, but about the value one gets from the taxes. The assumption on the right is that government always provides the minimal value for the taxes. The assumption on the left is that taxes can help create wealth rather than just destroy it. In both cases, one needs to judge the proposition by practicality rather than in theory. As my favorite slogan goes THERE IS NOTHING MORE PRACTICAL THAN A GOOD [/U][/B] THEORY!
Poor theory is never practical and governments that borrow rather than tax on the theory of never-ending growth run into recession and reality every once in a while.

America during President's Week should remember Franklin as well.
