Market makers do not have this restriction, as this would seriously restrict liquidity

Yes, I know its tight, thats a given. Its just a drag watching it give up a little bit at a time.




Exactly what does any of that have to do with MM restrictions and liquidity??? If your referring to Shorting, I think your confused with the difference between Naked Shorting and Shorting.

Naked Shorting -- The illegal practice of short selling shares that have not been affirmatively determined to exist. (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&hs=Gcl&defl=en&q=define:Naked+Shorting&sa=X&oi=glossary_definition&ct=title)

Shorting is used by Market Makers to ensure a timely and efficient market, however they cover their positions, which is NOT illegal.
