#59027 RE: ocyanblue #59025

a random channel flipping many years ago, I saw a professional gambler teaching a class on how to play roulette.

There is a nice touch of irony in that statement.

"Is this what you mean by 'the trend is your friend'?" Of course not, unless you believe there is something non-random about the wheel. Betting on the same same or opposite outcome is equally ineffective in a random situation.

But the stock market is not a roulette wheel. When the news appears, one must attempt to interpret it correctly before placing the bet. In the case of IDIX, I bet incorrectly, and the market has proven its case to me. It was not a matter of anyone's "twisting" the news and deciding that IDIX should be pulled down mercilessly for no other reason than to cause me pain. Those who think that way way never recover. They just buy more and more DNDN.

I can't imagine a smart money pusher saying, "Say, that was really good news on IBM! Now, let's try to tank it just for the fun of it!" Can you? Yet the piece cited claims that is exactly what happened. I repeat, baloney!
