"Would you rather supply Opetrons or AMD64 Desktop procesors."

That pretty much sums up the dicotomy. Should AMD go for volume or profit? Jerry tended to go for volume, Hector seems to be a profit sort of guy. Personally, I think profit with an eye to the future is the way to go. Focus only on the profit, and you wind up with the Alpha or Sparc. focus only on volume, and you wind up with a Celeron. There has to be some middle ground...

I guess you missed the mass defection from Raging Bull to here. We also have some regulars from SI and other places. It's a nice mixture. Raging Bull is pretty much dead, SI might be more technical but is slower paced. Here it is more fluid, but not as much recognized. Hopefully, Mike (from the Inq) and now Shannon drop in more often. There is a lot to be had here, not only AMD centric, but industry wide.

After couple years of writing down losses from AMD, Im back on board in big way

I think now is the probably best time in AMD's history to be on board. It really seems like everything is aligning and it is only a matter of time before profits and stock gains follow. Welcome back.

MWDaveT- As CJ noted, there was a mass "defection" from Raging Bull. It had been reduced to a place where little useful information was shared, and the Signal-to-Noise ratio was absurd. There was far more religious and political discussion going on than AMD-related discussion. It's gone pretty well here so far.
