#29515 RE: out to make money #29495

out to make money, typically sales people do have a good idea how things will end up by this point of the quarter. The last two weeks they will certainly be busy pulling in business and getting deals inked. However, this is the follow through on work they've been doing all quarter. They have a good feel for how much of the business they will be able to land, and typically this is the point where a supplier company starts to (internally) accurately project results.

For a supplier like AMD, they know what machines are slated to be built with their products next month, and approxmiately how much of each model. Right now they are trying to talk companies into committing to larger shipments of motherboards and machines, it is the usual end-of-quarter game.
