i dont get it...

i'm totally serious.

i did puppet theatre sunday before last - free of charge - for kids 'n cancer... and the group i did the show for was able to raise a couple of thousand bucks.

i dont have a problem doing shows for charity at no cost - from time to time - but i put an enormous amount of time and energy into this and i think the $300.00 is a reasonble cost for the performance.

the way i see it --- its a win win situation. you got me sitting here in jail after i already know what i did wrong - essentially i have plead guilty.

i'm giving you an opportunity to set me free AND do a good deed for others. im not saying you are not charitable - but ask yourself:

WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME I DID SOMETHING MEANINGFUL FOR OTHERS THAT THEY WILL REMEMBER FOR THE REST OF THEIR LIVES?

i will put on an unforgettable performance for kids who are sick and suffering - some of them terminally. YOU WILL GET THE CREDIT.

come on matt - you know how easy it is to piss off $300 bucks on a friday nite.

think on it some more and really consider doing it. in the end it will generate good will all around. im sure omni would be good for 50 bucks and even Dsmucka would probably be willing to kick in 50. ask around... even those i have butted heads with are likely to throw in with you on this one.

Matt...im sorry you have declined to accept the terms of release i offered.

having said that, the truth is, i belong here.

its lent and the one thing i said i was going to try to do during lent was "watch my lips".

as ST. Andrew of Crete says:

i have shown myself to be a miserable failure.

keep me here at least until after Pasch [Easter] only, if you might be so kind as to allow me more than 3 posts per day.

matt - i have posted to you...

you said i broke a rule and i admitted i was wrong.

you never got back to me on my last proposal. that is, you set me free on the condition that i only post in the jailhouse -- at least for some probationary period. [like until after easter because its lent and i should be keeping my mouth shut anyway]

what say warden?
