#49565 RE: Fred Kadiddlehopper #49560

Fred I meant no disrespect to you, as you stated the question quite inline with the facts of the press release, and I certainly don't have a quarrel with your post or question.
"They are reducing their earnings forecast and partially attributing this to weak demand for drill pipes in the Gulf of Mexico! "

The original question was stated like this "Allis-Chalmers will not meet analyst earnings forecasts, citing weak demand for drill pipe in teh Gulf of Mexico.
How does this play out for DPDW? How could there be weak demand for drill pipe when oil prices are so high?"

The press release cited gives these reasons
Allis-Chalmers blamed the expected disappointing fourth-quarter performance on weak demand for drill pipes in the Gulf of Mexico, flooding at the site of its Mexican tubular services operations, labor strikes and new taxes in Argentina, and startup costs and low use in its coil tubing division.
