Changing their oil law has nothing to do with speeding the process. Good grief they are the bottleneck SLOWING the process!

If they wanted to speed the process they could auction a small number of blocks and offer a free block of choice to the consortium that produces the first barrel of oil.

It's not rocket science, although figuring out how to line your pockets without getting caught is! So we wait while they go through the learning curve of corruption.

Every citizen of Sao Tome could be rich if they'd just drill and distribute the oil wealth. But nooooo, rich isn't good enough for those in power, they want mooooore.

In the end pigs get fat, but these hog wanna-bes will get slaughtered. I suspect there will be another coup before the first oil flows.

Greed sucks, look where it got us! LOL!

STP News: Govt hopes to receive "a little more than (USD)250 million through direct negotiations" of EEZ oil blocs in framework of setting up a four-way Lusophone consortium, online Vitrina reports, citing unnamed gov source.

P.S. Playing catch up, island media now all reporting Govt attempt to alter oil legislation and rejection of same by opposition leaders.
