Precisely why I have stated in the past that indirect is the way to go. I would help prevent virus transfers.

Yes, it would be a great selling point!

Although there are others that do not see this as a problem, A.K.A. Brewski. Mobiles should come with anti-virus software.

Eventually, this may happen. The memory required for antivirus software on a mobile is a memory killer.

Direct codes allow hackers to make a malicious code for others to click on spreadng virus or hacking to get the cell users phone / contact information.

But, YES, Neomedia's NeoReader allows the user to click direct and indirect codes, not proprietary codes like EZcode.

I don't think that the security can be built into the NeoReader application for direct encoding. Once the code is decoded and the browser is launched, the NeoReader is no longer involved in the transaction; whatever malicious virus, etc. that someone would want to send comes through the browser.
